Danish Standards Association - Translator Marianne Kamstrup

Danish Standards Association introduced WebWordSystem in the summer of 2008. We are 3 translators, who have worked with translation tools before, so we know how helpful such a system is in the day-to-day work.

The texts we translate at Danish Standards Association are often structured in the same way and contain a number of identical or similar sections. WebWordSystem is compatible with our previous system, which enabled us to continue the work on developing the consistency and increased quality of our translations of standards which we had already initiated.

Due to the nature of our texts, we have initially concentrated on the segment element. In this connection, we have benefited greatly from the search function, which enables us to search the entire segment database, i.e. also in segments entered by others. This is important to us, as it ensures that the terminology within the areas we cover is clarified, and we also save time as we do not all have to spend time on extensive terminology searches.

WebWordSystem has proved to be a welcome simplification compared with our previous system and it has the further advantage that it is web-based so that we do not have to solve any server problems ourselves. We have also experienced that our suggestions for improvements are always positively received and altogether our ideas have been welcomed.
